Face thickness is only the beginning. The Formula FIRE combines a deep forged cup face, hardened beta titanium, Maximum Energy Transfer architecture, aerodynamic shaping, enhanced bulge and roll, adjustable weighting and a non-rotating Tri-Sleeve fitting system.
Krank's forged cup-face structure extends around the perimeter of the hitting area. That gives the face a larger engineered structure and supports useful response beyond a single center point.
The cup-face concept works together with the selected face thickness. Instead of treating face flex as a single specification, Krank engineers the face as part of the entire head structure.
Krank specifies hardened beta titanium for its forged faces. The objective is a face with the strength, elasticity and durability required for a highly engineered spring structure.
